About Eleanor

Eleanor Harris, a pioneer and trendsetter in the healing arts field, has worked with diverse groups and individuals promoting health and wellness for over 25 years. She has organized workshops and programs in the US and abroad for small groups and helped with events for up to 1,200 people.  Working  with diverse groups of people of all ages is a passion that can be seen whether she is teaching a class with 22 moms and 22 babies yoga, providing wellness programs and traveling with rock stars.  Eleanor enjoys soothing stressed out people, helping to increase their energy.  In NYC, she worked with CEO's  in fianace, fashion and music.  Clients include Howard Stein, former CEO of Dryfuess Mutual Funds, Josis Natori, designer, Henry KIssenger, Head of State,  and a world tour with Duran Duran.  Eleanor’s calm nature helps to nurture and foster a sense of well-being. Eleanor has a BAAS in Occupation Education.

Eleanor has practiced and studied many forms of bodywork/massage and exercise movement systems. She is passionate about providing each client the best health management programs.  She is licensed, certified and registered in a number of treatments. Her years of experience have shown her that the body changes and the method of treatment should change. In her bodywork practice, Eleanor uses her hands to “listen” to what the body tells her.

Eleanor began her studies as a dancer in NYC.  She began her studies of massage at the Swedish Institute of Massage to help support her dance career, however, learning about the body became a calling.

Many clients come in seeking relief from stress or muscle pain. Eleanor’s ability to listen enables her to provide the type of treatment necessary for eachindividual. Depending on the condition, acute or chronic, the style and method will vary.

Eleanor is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor who is registered with Yoga Alliance as a teacher trainer. Eleanor is currently studying teacher training with Shiva Rhea, a highly acclaimed vinyasa flow instructor. Eleanor is a certified Peak Pilates instructor who trains clients in mat and on the reformer. Eleanor has studied Watsu, a method of water therapy. Eleanor has also studied Continumum with Emillie Conrad. Eleanor has studied many forms of dance ranging from ballet and modern to jazz and ethnic styles.

Eleanor has studied performing arts in New York City. Eleanor has studied dance a t Al v i n Ally, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Eric Hawkins and the Joffrey Ballet School. She has attended classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse and HB Studios. Her vocal training has included working with Katie Agresta, Kamal Scott, Helen Phillips, Maurice Finnell, Jerry Brown Mukesh Desai.

She graduated from the Swedish Institute of Massage and the Ohashiatsu in New York.  She is a Reiki Master, and has studied acupressusre, jinshindo and craniosacral therapy.

Dance studios she studied at include a t Al v i n Ally, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Eric Hawkins, DanceSpace, Morelli Ballet, Nat Horne Jazz, Charles Moore Studio and the Joffrey Ballet School.  Her vocal training has included working with Katie Agresta, Kamal Scott, Helen Phillips, Maurice Finnell, Jerry Brown Mukesh Desai.  A performing artist, she has attended classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse and HB Studios.
